ZEAL
ZEAL, a district priority project falling under the spectrum of 'Reach out to Rehabilitate,' aimed to raise cancer awareness among the public through a marathon. This endeavor was a collaborative effort with our Parent Rotary, the Rotaract Club of Coimbatore East, and SLV Hospital.
The marathon offered three categories for participants: 2.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. The 2.5 km route spanned from SLV Hospital to Ramanathapuram signal and back, while the 5 km route extended to Sungam Junction via Ramanathapuram signal. The 10 km run led from SLV Hospital to Classic Towers.

Each participant received a T-shirt and a CHSS number, and the inaugural ceremony was graced by event coordinators, Dr. Suresh Venkatachalam - District Director of SLV Hospital and Cancer Centre, Rtn. Dr. Nirmala, as well as esteemed guests, including Rtr. Hemananth, President of Rotaract Club of GCT Coimbatore, Rtn. Rajesh Chinnaswamy, Youth Service Chairman, and Rtn. Jeyakumar, President of Rotary Club of Coimbatore East.

Refreshments were provided to participants. Certificates were awarded to all who completed the marathon, and the top three winners in each category received medals. Furthermore, a display of posters created by Rotaractors under the Artify event served to raise awareness at the SLV Hospital location.

The event culminated with a valediction ceremony and a rice donation drive. Its primary goal was to promote cancer awareness, encapsulated in the tagline, "Cancer is not lethal, but delaying it makes it fatal." ZEAL garnered media attention, featuring in Daily Hunt, Readers India Tamil, and Kovai Media.

Through ZEAL, the objective of spreading cancer awareness was successfully achieved. This collaborative effort not only created new friendships but also enhanced fellowship among all involved.
